I agree that we need to strengthen IV by contributing our time, money. But, to me it looks like most of the successes(how small they are) of IV are making EB3 suffer more. Not anything against EB2 guys, don't start a war please. I think IV should concentrate more on EB3. I have seen vocal EB2 people writing against EB3 in these forums. But do we really have to suffer like this?
I agree completely with vdlrao and pappu. We are doing our best to put lot of efforts to sort this out by volunteering. What is your guess, how many people stuck in GC mess in the DC Metro area? Thousands, right????? We had a State Chapter meeting for Maryland, Virginia and DC and you know how many show up for the meeting ????? Take a guess...15!!!! You guys just know how to yell and scream at this blog. Convert your anger into something constructive......IV is not the President of this country that would go ahead and pass legislation to bring you relief. It is the lawmakers.....This has to be collective effort. I will like each one of you to first donate, volunteer before coming to this site to blame the organization. You should be thankful to the people running this show putting their time and energy for our cause. President of this country is having hard time to pass a legislation on health care and you expect IV with help of couple of people can get you legislative relief with couple of hundred dollars!!!! Guys wake up to the reality and contribute to IV.....Work with your state chapters...There are lot of people ready to take initiative through your state chapters but they find no one supporting them. I was looking at the comments of one "sodepressed" in the Ron gothcer's forum..I am feeling really bad for this guy..I dont know what logic USCIS follows..but I assure you EB-3 I will fight for fair share and get it..with in 140 K numbers or thro Visa recapture #'s..first is to highlight our problems..so lets do it in creative ways...

It is a fact that EB3 India is a FORGOTTEN category. There appears to be a sense of intra-category elitism within the larger community that comes together at IV. EB3 I's make feeble attempts to be heard and some take a shot at innovative marketing campaigns to call attention to the plight of being stuck for over 6 ot 7 years in some cases. EB2 I's immediately respond with a self protectionist attitude and preach a higher calling that focuses on comprehensive solutions instead of piecemeal solutions. EB1 I's obviously choose to remain outside the fray, since these are matter of concern to vox populi, not them.
Some EB2's and EB3's then analyse the hell out of USCIS logic, to the extent that they could become full time spin meisters for ANY public organization. With very little fact, a healthy dose of opinion and a mish mash of 'logic', they piece together their 'strong' arguments -one way or the other.
Lost in this useless din of irrelevant analysis paralysis is the real misery of thousands of EB3 I's (such as myself) that have been stuck for years for no fault of ours. By the way, I happen to be a highly educated (for those that care) Executive that went to Top Private Universities in the US that happens to be stuck in EB3 ONLY because the company HR rep and lawyer at the time, chose to go down this path. POint being, there is no reason for EB2 I's to pontificate from a sense of elitist protectionism because there are EB3 I's like me that can outsmart a bunch of you in no time. Seriously. (This is for those that preach that if you are 'smart' you should be in EB2. Go read those threads).
So bottomline, let us stop behaving like CIS vs Anti CIS camps and instead UNITE towards the common cause. Let EB3I's air their frustrations. If you can come to help, do so. If not, stay out of it completely. No more half ass 'logic', please.

its not just this employer, many f____ employers have same issue they dont want to file 485 and atleast they are trying to delay the process as much as possible. They are fearing that the employees on L visas will have an oppurtunity to switch company if they get their GCs sooner.

I think we should protest in front of capitol with placards reading "End Discrimination by National Origin". "USCIS practices Racism", "End Racism in Legal Immigration" "Remove country Caps", "Country Caps = Racism", "Choose Merit, Not Race". We should set up a tent and do a huger strike.

Allows foreign workers who have started the green card process, but who are subject to green card backlogs, to pay a $500.00 supplemental fee to file an application to adjust status. This change would enable foreign workers to remain in the U.S. until the green card becomes available
Section 201 item two says exemption for all advanced degree holder who worked in US for atleast 3 years in a "related" field. I know there might be issues with definition of "related" but seems job can be EB2/EB3 as long as the beneficiary has an advanced degree and the job is in related field - they are exempt. Am I reading it correctly? I think is how its in STEM right now. A very good back bill for us (if CIR fails to materialize).

Just called FedEx to find out why mine is not delivered yet. According to her, all USCIS packets remain at local FedEx facility. It seems FedEx will notify USCIS that there are packages to be picked up and they will be picked up by the USCIS agent (mail man??). It seems USCIS dont actually allow packets into their bldg. She says FedEX has no control on when the USCIS agent will come and pick up the package

The bulletin was updated between 10.30 and 11 am.I assume USCIS notified all carrier to hold the docs until further notice.

I am July 2nd filer from last year. I did receive a FP notice in Oct 2007 but couldn't go for it. I sent a letter asking for another date but TSC..So go figure!
Now my FP is not done and I am current next month.
My company does only paper based filing for EAD. (Is e-filing costly?)
Will I not get any FP notice again?
I have tried calling TSC and no response after putting a SR. I tried dropping in at an ASC here and they didn't take my FP either..
Does paper based filing not trigger FP? Is it slower?
FP is mainly for E-filing folks, paper filers need not take FP.

Please whats all these arguments about? MS from the states, BS + 10 years experience etc. Please we don't need all these. There are people that come to the states and dont even pay a dime in tuition instead they even get paid - in the form of research assistanships and scholarships.
Whatever the case, it is not fair to come to the US work for a long period of time and then get thrown out (say after 6 years) like the H1B visa.
What we need to concentrate our energy and efforts on is for congress to create a PATH for SELF SPONSORSHIP of GCs. For example, if u have lived LEGALLY in the US for 5 or more years, paid taxes and stayed out of troble then you should be able to apply for a green card. That gives you some hope that if I do such and such then one day I'd qualify for a green card. It also takes care of those that started counting as F1 then H1. It balances out everything.
The way it is now, there is no hope. Everything is uncertain. We are living uncertain lives. If we get sacked, we dont even know what step to take next. It is so dipressing and furstrating. Thats exactly what it is tempoary workers living TEMPOARY LIVES. Some are just waiting until 6 years H1 B expires and then .... yes and then what?? They dont even know. As it is most employers are unwillingly to sponsor GC. Why go through all the troubles??
Of course a lot of guys have gone ahea and gotten married just to get GC and which brings back the question... who is the system designed for? Those who struggle to abide by the law or those who take the short but fraudlent route. Your guess is as good as mine.
